International students interested in improving their English speaking skills now have the opportunity to enhance their comprehension every week.
The University of Oklahoma’s College of International Studies along with International Student Services is now offering the English Conversation Café every Thursday. The College of International Studies has been offering these sessions for several years, but due to demand from students, the college has chosen to offer it weekly as opposed to every other week.
These sessions are designed to assist international students in improving their English speaking abilities, according to Janice Levi, international programs coordinator at the College of International Studies.
“Students gather over a cup of [coffee] to practice English, acquire new vocabulary, learn about U.S. culture, and pick up U.S. slang and colloquialisms,” Levi said.
The next English Conversation Café will take place next Thursday, Nov. 8, at 3:30 p.m. in Hester Hall, room 170.
